The Learning That LastsBook Study Series is a two-month interactive experience designed for talent development professionals who want to increase learner engagement, retention, and real-world application. Together we will explore practical reflection strategies, discuss implementation challenges, and leave with immediately usable activities that elevate our programs from "great session" to "lasting impact",
You won't just talk about the book. You'll actively select, test, and refine activities you can use in your own facilitation, instructional design, leadership development, or onboarding programs.
To prepare for our July 22nd session, choose activities from chapters 7-10 that you could immediately apply in your own work. Come prepared to discuss which strategies feel most practical and where you anticipate learner resistance. Think about how your might adapt the activities for virtual, hybrid, or in-person delivery.
You can purchase the book on the ATD website (use our CHiP code: CH9060) or Amazon

Why Leadership Development Isn't Changing behavior (And What to Do Instead)
In this virtual workshop, you will learn how design leadership experiences that turn knowledge into performance.
Date: Thursday, July 23, 2026
Time: 12:00 - 1:15 PM ET
Location: Virtual. The Zoom link will be provided after you register.
Speaker: Jared Forman, MA, CPTD, Founder of AdaptIncrease
Organizations invest heavily in leadership development - yet many still struggle to see consistent behavior change in the moments that matter most: coaching conversations, performance feedback, and team accountability. Across industries, a consistent pattern is emerging: leaders often know what to do but struggle to execute effectively under real-world pressure.
This session explores the gap between leadership knowledge and actual behavior, and why traditional development approaches often fail to translate into performance. Through highly interactive exercises and real-world scenarios, participants will analyze leadership conversations, identify the behavioral patterns that drive outcomes, and learn practical ways to build capability - not just awareness.
Attendees will leave with simple, actionable approaches to improve leadership effectiveness, strengthen coaching conversations, and create development experiences that lead to measurable behavior change.
About our Presenter:
Jared Forman, MA, CPTD, is the founder of AdaptIncrease and a learning and performance strategist focused on helping organizations strengthen leadership effectiveness and improve real-world execution.
His work centers on a challenge many organizations face: people often know what to do but struggle to apply it consistently in high-stakes moments such as coaching conversations, performance feedback, and accountability discussions.
Drawing on experience across leadership development, instructional technology, performance improvement, and workforce capability, Jared helps organizations move beyond training participation toward practical behavior change and performance outcomes.
Jared holds a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology from Nova Southeastern University and is a Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD). He is also a recipient of the 2019 Champions of Learning Gold Award.

Artificial Intelligence is reshaping how we design work, learning, and performance. In this 90-minute online session you'll get a practical framework for choosing the right AI solutions for your organization - so you don't chase every new tool. Learn decision criteria, risk indicators, and cost-benefit considerations, that help you move quickly and confidently while aligning technology to business outcomes.
We'll also examine where AI falls short - the human experience, empathy, judgment - and how to bridge those gaps when you automate. Discover the essential team skills sets (prompting, data literacy, critical thinking, change readiness) and concrete upskilling steps to enable successful human-AI partnerships. Bring questions for live Q&A and leave with ready-to-use templates, stakeholder talking points, and an actionable roadmap to modernize responsibly.
Shift Summit 2026
Hosted by ATD Central Florida
This in-person workshop is an all-in future-focused event for all L&D Professionals.
Date: Wednesday, July 29
Time: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM ET
Location: Westgate Lakes Resort and Spa, 9500 Turkey Lake Rd, Orlando, Florida 32819, United States
SHIFT 2026 is a one-day, all-in summit for L&D professionals who'd rather build the future than wait for it. Through focused keynotes, hands-on labs, and real conversations, you'll learn to apply AI-fluent techniques, human-centered design, and the modern L&D stack (Storyline, Rise, custom GPTs, no-code automation) to create measurable learning experiences. Sessions are small, collaborative, and tool-forward so you build with the technology — not just watch it.
This isn't another conference with a binder and a buffet. You'll leave with proof: a portfolio piece, a working tool, a published post, or a sharper rollout plan you can share on Monday. SHIFT is designed for career shifters and early-career builders—instructional designers, trainers-turned-strategists, learning technologists, and educators moving into corporate L&D. Spend a focused morning at Westgate Lakes Resort with practitioners who will expand your network, sharpen your skills, and reposition your role for the shift already changing how work gets learned.
