Getting Started Using Articulate RISE

With Lisa LeVerrier and Kari Word

Are you interested in learning more about Articulate Rise? Rise is an authoring tool with the Articulate 360 suite and is very easy to use.

In this presentation, Lisa LeVerrier from ATD South Florida and Kari Word from the Florida Suncoast Chapter will show you how they use Rise as instructional design consultants.

In this session, we'll explore some best practices to get you started designing and developing eLearning courses using Rise and its various features. Learn how to create engaging scenarios, incorporate multimedia, and track learning progress.

Lisa LeVerrier - ATD South Florida

Lisa stumbled into the world of training design and development after working in a role that required her to use software and train others. She has a Masters in Instructional Systems Design from Florida State University and has been working in the field for over 20 years.

Her eLearning work began during graduate school using an Apple Computer and authoring software that no longer exists! Since then, her skills have evolved through experience in working as an instructional design consultant and upskilling herself on various software applications. Her clients have spanned various industries and target audiences that focus on technical and professional skills. Her primary design and development tools these days include Articulate Storyline and Rise and Camtasia Studio for video editing.

Kari Word - Florida Suncoast Chapter

Kari is a former middle school math teacher who found her calling while completing an instructional design course in her Master’s in Educational Technology program. Her eLearning development started with Smartboards, interactive PowerPoints, and anything tech.

After 5 years of teaching, she landed her first ID job helping professors move their courses online from in-person, then started her own instructional design consulting and contracting company creating learning solutions for various organizations. Initially, Captivate became her go-to tool for creating eLearning and software simulations, but in 2019, she has been primarily using Articulate Storyline and Rise.

About the Learning-Tech Special Interest Group (SIG)

The Learning-Tech ("L-Tech") Special Interest Group (or SIG) is a chance to learn more about some of the great L&D tools on the market. Every other month at noon, we will be holding a webinar featuring a different technology. Here, learning and development professionals (novice, expert, and everyone in between) network with professional learning technologists, designers and trainers. There is no program cost for these gatherings and we all share knowledge and best practices!

This is a new, focused community for ATDSFL. It is a members-only event.

The ATD South Florida Chapter has been pre-approved by the ATD Certification Institute to offer educational programs that can be used towards initial eligibility and recertification of Certified Professionals in Talent Development (CPTD) and Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD) credentials. This program qualifies for a maximum of 1 point.
