About This Program

A free, time-limited membership for members and talent development professionals experiencing financial hardship.

No one should be left out because of financial circumstances.

ATD South Florida recognizes that life brings unexpected challenges โ€” job transitions, economic hardship, and difficult seasons are part of every professional's journey. No one should be excluded from our community because of their financial situation.

That's why we offer a free, six-month membership for those experiencing financial hardship. This gives you full access to ATDSFL programming, networking, mentorship, the CPTD study group, job board, and community โ€” at no cost to you during your time of need.

Your application is held in complete confidence and reviewed only by select members of the Board of Directors. The rest of the community will never know you applied.

Your application and all information you share is treated with the highest level of discretion. This is our firm commitment to every applicant:

  • No other members, volunteers, or staff will ever know you applied

  • Approved applicants participate in all programs just like any other member โ€” no distinction, no labels

Who Can Apply

This program is open to both current members and talent development professionals in the broader community.

  • An ATDSFL member experiencing financial hardship
  • A talent development professional in the South Florida community
  • Currently unemployed, underemployed, or in a difficult financial season
  • Unable to pay for a membership at this time due to circumstances beyond your control

How long does the complimentary membership last?

The hardship membership is a free six-month membership. At the end of the six months, you're welcome to renew at the standard rate, apply again if your situation has not changed, or let it lapse โ€” no pressure either way.

What's included in the complimentary membership?

Everything a standard Professional membership includes โ€” event discounts, CPTD study group, mentorship program, job board access, networking events, and volunteer opportunities. You're a full member in every way.

Who reviews my application?

Only a small, select group of Board of Directors members sees your application. It is not shared with the broader board, volunteers, event staff, or any other members of the chapter.

How quickly will I hear back?

The Board reviews applications as promptly as possible. You can expect a response within a few business days of submitting your application. If you haven't heard back within a week, feel free to follow up at membership@atdsfl.org.

I'm not currently a member โ€” can I still apply?

Yes. This program is open to talent development professionals in the broader South Florida community โ€” not just existing members. If you're in the L&D field and experiencing hardship, you're welcome to apply.
