Hybrid Learning: Are You Doing It Right?

Hybrid learning offers tremendous potential, but simply adding technology isn't enough. The next LTSIG Gathering tackles the critical questions surrounding effective hybrid instruction. Our expert panel will discuss best practices, explore various delivery models, and share how they're leveraging tools to boost interactivity and engagement. Join the conversation and discover how to create a truly successful hybrid learning experience.

Barb Potter: Barb discovered her passion for Learning and Development through her work producing and promoting large-scale international events, conferences, and training programs. With over 15 years of project management experience, she specializes in designing and implementing virtual, hybrid, and software training programs for learners at all levels.

Her career began in information technology, where she worked in database management, data collaboration, security, and reporting. This technical foundation led her to virtual and hybrid training, where she has developed, facilitated, and hosted thousands of training programs, written curriculum, and mentored talent. She continues to consult through her solopreneurship, Virtual Training Pros, while also working full-time as a Technical Content Developer in Identity Security.

Barb’s expertise spans various industries, and she enjoys creating engaging learning experiences that inspire and motivate learners. She currently serves as the 2024-2025 President for the Association for Talent Development (ATD) South Florida Chapter. She holds a Bachelor's in Finance and Marketing Management, with a minor in Technical Writing from Virginia Tech. 

Carol Brogan: Carol Berkhimer (formerly Brogan) is a seasoned professional in talent development with extensive experience in leadership roles. For the past nine years she has led Learning and Quality Improvement at The Children's Trust in Miami-Dade County in a unique hybrid remote office environment. She has served as the director of business development/training academy and special projects manager at Family Central, quality counts implementation manager at the Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade/Monroe, and education services manager at Miami-Dade County Head Start/Early Head Start.

As a member of the Association for Talent Development (ATD), she earned a Coaching Certificate and currently serves as the Director of CPTD for ATD of South Florida. Carol is also a Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) with a Bachelor of Science in education from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Science in international administration from Central Michigan University, and an advanced professional CQ Certification from the Cultural Intelligence Center.

George Romagosa: George Romagosa is an experienced Instructional Technologist specializing in technology-driven Learning Performance. He introduced early virtual and hybrid learning at Citigroup and further developed these methods at major corporations. He now serves as VP of Technology for ATD South Florida and a Director of Technology for the Florida Distance Learning Association.

Dr. Victoria Brown: Dr. Victoria Brown, with 20+ years in instructional design at Florida Atlantic University, specializesin enhancing online programs through innovative design and professional development. Her work, focused on universal design and student support, includes developing an Online Student Support Scorecard. Recognized with awards like Distance Educator of the Year and the USDLA Distance Learning/Teaching Award Gold, she's also received the Meritorious Service Medal for her non-profit instructional design contributions.

About the Learning-Tech Special Interest Group (SIG)

The Learning-Tech ("L-Tech") Special Interest Group (or SIG) is a chance to learn more about some of the great L&D tools and strategies on the market. Here, learning and development professionals (novice, expert, and everyone in between) network with professional learning technologists, designers and trainers. There is no program cost for these gatherings for our Members and we all share knowledge and best practices!

This is a new, focused community for ATDSFL. It is a members-only event.


The ATD South Florida Chapter has been pre-approved by the ATD Certification Institute to offer educational programs that can be used towards initial eligibility and recertification of Certified Professionals in Talent Development (CPTD) and Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD) credentials. This program qualifies for a maximum of 1 point.
