AI Tools for Talent Development

The AI Workgroup meeting focused on leveraging AI tools for content creation in talent development. Steve Yudewitz, VP of Technology at ATDSFL, introduced the panelists, including David Forry and Jennifer Dow, who discussed the use of AI tools like Synthesia, Colossian, and HeyGen for creating avatars and videos. Jennifer shared her experience using Colossyan to recreate a CEO's video, while David highlighted the quality of Heygen and Synthesia. The group agreed that while the large language models provided a broad overview, more specific use cases could yield more tailored tool recommendations.

AI Tools in Learning Development

The group discussed their experiences with AI tools in learning and development. David shared insights from his research and analysis role, highlighting the value of AI for synthesizing content and creating personalized learning experiences. Jennifer described how AI tools like ChatGPT and Storyline's embedded AI have transformed her content development workflow, particularly in creating accessible content and managing large amounts of information. Both agreed that while AI tools have made significant improvements, there are still challenges around organizational context and image creation. The group also discussed Microsoft Copilot, with David noting its utility for email and meeting planning, while Jennifer and others expressed concerns about its invasiveness. David concluded that the future potential of AI lies in personalized talent development, though this capability is not yet fully realized.

David shared insights from Brandon Hall Group's experience with employee surveys, noting low participation due to trust issues. The conversation ended with George announcing the opening of three breakout rooms focused on different AI tools, and participants shared their experiences and learnings from the discussions.
