Who is Steve Yudewitz?Meet Steve Yudewitz, VP of Technology with ATD South Florida and currently supporting NextEra Energy’s Battery Energy Storage System Commissioning team. With 25 years in talent development, Steve continues to evolve alongside emerging industries and advancing technologies. Q: Tell us about a work project that you’re absolutely crushing and are super proud of right now! Who is supporting you on the project with whom you want to share the spotlight? Steve: I'm currently developing training to support NextEra Energy’s Battery Energy Storage System Commissioning team, an incredibly specialized group working at the forefront of renewable energy. What makes this especially exciting is leveraging AI tools to build learning solutions for experts in a field that barely existed when I started my career. I’m grateful for the support of my manager and the SMEs I collaborate with daily; their brilliance, patience, and commitment to excellence make this work both challenging and deeply rewarding. |

Q: Why should others get involved with ATD South Florida? What have you gained by being a part of the organization?
Steve: ATD South Florida is a true “help first” community. Members actively support one another by sharing ideas and alternative approaches to real business challenges. Through collaboration, mentoring, and initiatives like the AI Workgroup, I’ve strengthened my skills while learning just as much from others as they’ve learned from me.
Q: What's your all-time favorite learning tool or strategy that never fails to engage?
Steve: Collaborative problem solving. |
Q: When you’re not transforming lives, what do you love doing for fun that brings you joy?Steve: I’m working on two novels and a non-fiction book on teams and leaders. I’m also a sports enthusiast, a history buff, and someone who enjoys experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. Most of all, my family brings me joy. Q: What’s your favorite quote that keeps you motivated?Steve: I have two. One is a reminder that the way we do things is as important as what we do and the other is a reminder that we can still achieve great things when we make the most of what's available to us. One of my law professors used to say something to the effect of... "When you start working in the real world, you can be an artist or an ordinary technician. Don't settle for ordinary, become an artist in your craft." -Tom Hagel. “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” - Theodore Roosevelt |
Q: What sparks your creativity and gets your energy flowing? Who or what inspires you to reach new heights
Steve: Creativity often starts with a business challenge. When a complex problem is explained, my mind immediately explores root causes and multiple potential solutions; thinking both big picture and detailed execution at the same time. Seeing ideas evolve into practical learning solutions is what fuels my energy and commitment. Q: Which technology platform do you absolutely love using to
level up your work?
Steve: Genially, Twine, and Claude — with strong quality and accuracy guardrails. |
